
When The Guild approached us in 2017, the cannabis retail industry was still navigating early legalization and unclear regulations in California. Our role was to help invent a new kind of space—what should a cannabis dispensary be when there’s no precedent?
With a limited scope and budget, we led a focused pre-design discovery process that clarified brand values and operational needs, and set a vision for a new typology. We supported handoff to a design/fabrication partner, translating early strategy into actionable design. This is where we thrive—defining the unknowns, shaping firsts, and guiding early ventures through messy, high-potential beginnings.
