Transitecture reimagines the boundaries of design, blending transdisciplinary methods with a focus on the in-between and the in-flux. We explore unconventional paths to create spaces that evolve, provoking new ways of thinking.

research

design.

We approach design as an act of research, and research as an act of design. Each project poses a new opportunity to delve into the synergy between learning and producing work in dialogue with this process of creative exploration.

consulting

entrepreneurship.

We do not accept the binary of business and art, understanding that we cannot approach the systems we operate within with criticality and with desire for change, without understanding how to strategically operate within these current systems. We navigate this territory in our own practice, and we work as consultants for mission driven startups and non-profits. We share what we have learned from our own entrepreneurialism and seek alignment to collaborate.

Nicole Biewenga

Researcher | Entrepreneur

My interdisciplinary practice centers on the need for critical perspectives on the social equity of hospitality development, and the opportunity for research, art and architecture to serve as activism in this industry. My experience has spanned over a decade in the service industry, professional practice in architecture, as well as academia and state funded research. This work is deeply rooted in decolonial methodologies that offer insight into the long history of the tourism industry, with the aim to impact tangible, community led change.

I approach architecture with a deep attention to detail and a commitment to precision, ensuring each project is thoughtfully articulated from concept to execution. My professional experience as a lead designer and project manager has shaped my ability to navigate complex projects with a focus on craftsmanship and clarity. I believe in the power of design to enhance everyday life, paying close attention to light, texture, and the beauty that architecture can bring to the world. Grounded in a sense of responsibility and professionalism, my work reflects a sensitivity to how spaces shape the lives of those who experience them.
